Barn reiser gratis.
The easiest way to get from the Fiumicino Airport to the centre of Rome is by the Leonardo Express train. The fare is 11 euro for adults. Children are free. Tickets can be purchased in the station or from ticket machines (cash or credit card). The journey takes 30 minutes. The train departs every half hour, which might be too infrequent as it always seems to be very full. If you are travelling with children it can be a good idea to get on board as soon as the train arrives ro make sure you get seats. The train arrives at Rome Termini station, which is a good starting point for onward journeys.
Reisen tar 1 time og 10 min.
We bought the tickets for Sperlonga over the counter in the station, but they can also be purchased on the ticket machines. The price is approx. 6 euro for adults. In order to get to Sperlonga one needs to take a regional train towards Napoli that stops in Fondi (the fast trains do not stop). The journey takes 1 hour and 10 minutes. Upon arrival in Fondi there is a shuttle bus to Sperlonga. Tickets can be purchased in the station bar, but be quick, the bus does not wait for long before departing. Tickets are 1 euro and be prepared to buy tickets for large suitcases. Soemtimes you need tickets for the children, sometimes you don't.
I had fallen in love with a classic Italian beach hotel that I found on the Internet. The hotel's name is Marconi and has the best location in Sperlonga (in my opinion). A triple room secured us a big balconi with ocean views and also views over the main street and town square. The host is an eldrely Italian man who, like most people in this region, speak little English. The hotel is clean, the staff friendly and the breakfast was good. The only minus was that we were not allowed to bring food into the rooms due to problems with ants. The hotel is not the cheapest in the area, but the price also includes sunbeds and a parasol.
